Any publicity is good publicity
The trailer is a major deciding factor for box office success. The trailer for Mohenjo Daro has received a mixed response from the audience. The trade has also given a mixed response. Also, a controversy has started due to the historians accusing the makers of showing the Indus valley civilization in a poor light. However this has helped the film, Mohenjo Daro get even more publicity.
The “Hrithik” Factor could help in drawing large audiences
After the Khans, Hrithik Roshan is one of the biggest crowd pullers. Also, this time, he is making a comeback after a two-year hiatus which is already making headlines. Therefore a big opening is expected, even though the trailer has received a lukewarm response.
Don’t forget, Rustom (starring Akshay Kumar) will clash with Mohenjo Daro
Another thing to take into account is that Mohenjo Daro will be clashing with Akshay Kumar’s Rustom which will fetch a lot of screens. So now, the film will only get about 2800- 3000 screens at the most.
Box Office Prediction for Mohenjo Daro
After considering these factors, the movie is likely to earn around 20.5 crores on its first day.
The overall collection it will make for its entire run is expected to be 185 cr.
Its box office success depends mainly on word of mouth.
If it receives an excellent response, it can earn more than 200 crores. However, if it doesn’t receive a good response, then it will be difficult for the film to achieve 200 crores, especially when the budget is around 1 billion.
